Mother Jones Magazine Talks Rape

Photographed spitfire Jenny Wendt for a Mother Jones Magazine story on statute of limitations for sexual assaults. Jenny, who was raped in 2005, has begun a campaign to change Indiana's laws, addressing rallies and meeting with legislators and is now working with lawmakers in Oregon. A serious topic calls for some serious images, but Jenny's personality is one of joy, warmth and humor. Got asked to photograph writer @laurawheatmanhill for a story she wrote for @insiderbusiness on the importance of a prenup (spoiler alert, it’s important). The editor requested something a little more creative that showed the tricky side of balancing money. We took that as an opportunity to play and Laura was game to drape and languish. Can’t help but laugh every time we look at these. And isn’t that the goal whenever you think of a prenup?

Had the absolute pleasure of photographing the gracious, tough and beautiful Walio Mohamed for @newlinesmagazine. In 2017 she was the target of a hate crime on the MAX train in Portland, OR. The attack left two dead, another injured and the city in shock. But Walio was largely written out of the story. Five years later she is finally speaking out. Recently did a portrait shoot for Edward Anthony, a recording artist and actor who is putting out an album titled “Them” featuring a collection of duets with his former self before he transitioned. We feel pretty honored to be part of Edward’s next chapter.
